A guiding principle of the work undertaken by Equalinrights is to stimulate relationships among HRBD practitioners from the global North and South by facilitating personal connections and providing diverse means for sharing information about themselves, their work, their passions and struggles, and their learning needs.
Accordingly, Equalinrights has created a collaborative web space, using such online tools as ediscussions, Dgroups and Wikis, with the aim of bringing together human rights and development communities to address, at a practical level, the question of how development processes can be made more human rights-aware and how the human rights framework can increase their effectiveness.
In addition to becoming members of networks, you can also do so by participating in the collaborative platform created by Equalinrights and using the tools provided to make yourselves heard. Join the dialogue via the Dgroups, wiki and ediscussions and bring your local experiences and knowledge to the attention of the wider development and human rights community.
A Dgroup is a web-based platform for dialogue, collaboration and knowledge sharing that allows you to exchange emails and share information resources on development-related topics. Equalinrights subscribes to and has created some Dgroups for discussions and exchanges on the application of the HRBA and related fields:
Click the links above to access the Dgroups, then click on join and follow the instructions.
A wiki is a page or collection of Web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content. Users can freely create and edit Web page content using any Web browser. The Equalinrights wiki has been set up as a collaborative online space for documenting and sharing knowledge, experience, resources and contacts on HRBD to facilitate and support the Network of Practitioners. Visit the Equalinrights wiki to learn more about getting involved with and contributing to the development of this wiki.
An e-discussion is an online discussion forum created to facilitate interactive communication between various stakeholders on a specific issue. Since 2007, Equalinrights has been conducting annual e-discussion series that are important for the advancement of human rights-based development (HRBD). The HRBD series is designed to engage practitioners from around the globe in an interactive way to share and build their knowledge, experience and practice on these central questions. In 2008, the focus of the Equalinrights e-discussion series is on Child Rights. Read more>>
