Equalinrights lives by the principle in Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948) that “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights”. We thus join the growing global community that strives for a world without poverty, inequality and social injustice; a world where all individuals are free and empowered to live in dignity and peace.

Aim
Our aim is to enable local men and women facing poverty and exclusion to voice their human rights priorities and meanings, engage their strategies, participate in the development process and drive change
Goal
Increased number and effectiveness of learning processes being facilitated by local practitioners with people facing poverty and exclusion to achieve upstream realisation of human rights
Objectives
- Deepen and advance common understanding of learning processes for upstream realisation of human rights
- Increase effective learning for upstream realisation of human rights for practitioners and through them, for local men and women facing poverty and exclusion
- Icrease awareness of development actors about learning processes for upstream realisation of human rights
Activities
- Initiate, guide, facilitate and coordinate Communities of Practice on learning processes for upstream realisation of human rights
- Develop the equalinrights network of practitioners
- Create a pool of resources from the Communities of Practice
